This page explains what information Fox Cigar Bar collects through this website, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the website and the email list and enquiry forms on it. It does not cover what happens in the lounges themselves, or on FoxCigar.com, which has its own policy.
What we collect
- When you join the email list: your email address, your preferred lounge if you choose one, the time you gave consent and the wording you agreed to. We also keep a salted, one-way hash of your IP address to limit abuse; we do not keep the address itself. We do not ask for a mobile number.
- When you send an enquiry to reserve a table: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, preferred lounge, date, guest count, event type and message, plus the same hashed IP value.
- When you browse: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) and cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work.
- When you enter a giveaway: whatever the entry form asks for, as described in the Official Rules.
Email list and double opt-in
Joining the list is opt-in. The consent box is never pre-ticked, and you must confirm that you are 21 or older. After you submit the form we send one email with a confirmation link. You are not subscribed, and we send you nothing else, until you click it. The link works once and expires after a limited time.
Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect straight away.
No text messages
We do not send marketing text messages and we do not collect a mobile number to join the list. If that changes, we will ask for separate, explicit consent first and update this page.
Age
This site and its lists are for adults aged 21 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21, and will delete it if we learn we have.
Cookies and analytics
This section is a placeholder until Fox Cigar Bar chooses its analytics tools. The intention is that cookies which are not strictly necessary stay off until you agree to them, that you can change your mind at any time, and that this page lists each cookie, who sets it and for how long.
How we use it
To confirm and send the email updates you asked for, to reply to enquiries, to run giveaways, and to keep the site working and secure. If you chose a preferred lounge, we use it to send news from that lounge rather than all of them.
Other services
Some content on this site comes from other services, such as maps, Instagram and Yelp. Our server fetches that information and your browser may load pictures directly from the provider. When you follow a link to one of those services, its own privacy policy applies. Online cigar orders are handled on FoxCigar.com, not here.
Who we share it with
Service providers who help us run the site, such as hosting and email delivery, and only what they need for that job. We do not sell your information.
How long we keep it
Retention periods are to be confirmed. Until then we keep records only as long as they are useful for the purpose above, and delete them when you ask.
Your choices
Use the unsubscribe link in any email to stop them. To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, write to us through the contact page.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will note the date here and, where appropriate, tell list members by email.
